3.5 Transportation
It is interesting to see how the ways of transportation can determine the amount of pollution along with the safety of others in terms of accidents. When I first moved to Sacramento, I was surprised to see that there were not that many buses on the street. Coming from a city where I saw buses everywhere and how they ran about 15 to 20 minutes apart from each other, it was sad to see that there were not many here in Sacramento. I thought to myself what will I do if my car breaks down? How will I get to work? Why is everything so far?
One thing that I did realize is that there are a lot more runners and bike riders here compared to Newark. I think it may be because of the limited transportation. So this can be a good and bad thing. It is good because people are choosing to exercise because of the limited transportation. It can be bad because this will cause everyone to just use a car which will cause more pollution in the air.
Brittany,
ReplyDeleteI think you are so lucky because of the transportation options you have there, in Dallas, Texas we don't have such options of the public transportation and for that I think the air pollution is higher than Sacramento.
